Training

SECCA provides specialised training in the areas of sexuality and human relationships to assist staff and family members who are supporting a person with a disability. Workshops are held in-house at our premises in West Perth or at other agencies by request.

Workshops cover topics such as:

  • Sexuality and disability
  • Protective behaviours
  • Sexual health
  • Puberty and adolescence
  • Internet safety
  • Organisational policy development
  • Consent
  • Healthy relationships

If you are an individual wishing to attend one of our in-house workshops please check the Events page for details of our current training calendar.

Agencies can request a full-day workshop for their staff by discussing their needs with our Project Coordinator. This discussion will cover:

  • Workshop topic
  • Date and start/finish times
  • Costs
  • Audience size and type
  • Venue details
  • Equipment required
  • Catering provided

SECCA can also provide short presentations on request, although this cannot be used as a substitute for training. Short presentations often take the form of an agency overview plus a Q&A session. A negotiable fee applies.

Please contact Project Coordinator Sandra Norman for further information about training.
